Best fish and chips in kempston.
What a great "plaice" to eat. I "cod" not go anywhere else.
Our usual chippy was closed and had not been here for many years. Pleasantly suprised. Good portions with fish nicely cooked. Will certainly use again.
Ordered meals for 6 people yesterday including 3 donner kebabs, got the food back home to find one donner had mayo on it when we asked for no sauce. No problem we thought, we'll call up and ask for a replacement. We call up and ask for it to be replaced to be told they had just sold the last one so couldn't provide another. We were then asked to bring the kebab back and they would 'sort another out'; having been told they had no meat we asked what they meant. Turns out he wanted to 'clean off' the meat, microwave it warm and give it back! Disgusted, we turned that down. He then said he would put the skewer back on the grill and get us a fresh one. When this arrived it was extremely dry and chewy, Luke warm at best. After the first phone call we didn't bother to phone again.Since changing hands, Paul's has gone down hill with this being the worst customer service we've experienced from any takeaway in a long time. We have always been loyal to Paul's, it was (till very recently) the best chippie in Bedford. We've decided after several bad meals to not go to Paul's again.
